Babylon 5

babylon5 picture

When Babylon 5 first aired, it seemed like no more than a Star Trek imitation, with worse effects and dorkier costumes. However, viewers soon realized they were watching something special, a series with vision, perhaps the most ambitious SF series ever attempted on television.

Babylon 5's creator, J. Michael Straczynski (JMS to all) didn't accept the confines of 50 minute episodes. Instead he has painted his space opera on a canvas as vast as the interstellar expanses where it is set. Making the limitations of television work for him rather than against him, JMS has spun out a saga bigger than any SF tale ever seen in film.

Now, Babylon 5 fans at ICon 98 have a rare opportunity to see both of the special full-length Babylon 5 films.
